Classes

LifeSkills Academy offers the following courses for children and young adults.

Career

Career Development & Talent Testing

High School & College:  Participants receive a Myers-Briggs behavioral assessment and in two 2-hour weekly sessions, walk through how personality applies to career choices. The assessment determines unique personality profiles, occupational themes, work/leadership styles and personal values that impact career and relationships. Each session explores specific roles, tasks and expectations. Participants graduate with a handful of career choices that they’re excited about.

Organization

“Calm Your Chaos” Organization

Middle, High School & College: Classes equip students with foundational life-long skills in organizing that impact every aspect of life.  In two 2-hour weekly sessions, organization decisions are covered to facilitate time management, goal attainment, orderliness and personal efficiency.

Etiquette/Social Intelligence Classes

Etiquette/Social Intelligence

Grades 2-12 & College: In four weekly 1-hour sessions, students elevate their personal presentation skills, style & grooming knowledge, social and dining etiquette practices. They’ll boost their self-confidence to succeed in any social situation. An optional graduation dinner is offered.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness

Middle & High School: Through discussion and activities, this class introduces mindfulness and helps establish student’s own mindfulness practice in four 1-hour weekly sessions.  Students leave with tools to combat stress, anxiety, sleeping challenges, difficulty focusing - or just to live their best life by living in the present moment.

Public Speaking

Speak Easy – Public Speaking

Elementary, Middle & High School:  Through interactive games and fun activities students learn in six 1.5-hour or four 2-hour weekly sessions how to:

Stand out in a crowd using specific tips for success.

Craft a meaningful and memorable message

Improvise - sometimes acting goofy is the best way to overcome fears!

Team build and lead others 

The class culminates with a speech presentation for family and friends.
